Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:

1. Six Canadian companies are among the 55 Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) members specially honoured with the organization’s annual safety awards, in recognition of their efforts throughout 2017.

2. Pattison Outdoor and its digital and interactive department, Fourthwall, partnered with ad agency J. Walter Thompson to develop a new digital storefront exclusively to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mazda Canada.

3. The Neon Museum in Las Vegas, Nev., has debuted Brilliant!, a 30-minute after-dark audiovisual (AV) show in its north gallery that uses digital projection mapping to re-animate 40 of its iconic vintage signs.

4. Registration is now open for the 2018 InPrint industrial inkjet conference, which will take place on May 1 and 2 at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago, Ill., and is designed to help traditional printing companies adopt new technologies and techniques.

5. Six Canadian projects are among the finalists for the upcoming 2018 Digital Signage Expo’s (DSE’s) 14th annual Apex Awards, which honour achievements in the installation of digital displays and the creation of compelling content.
