Wrapped ATM hits Whistler’s slopes

The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) has wrapped and installed Canada’s first mountaintop ‘ski-thru’ automated teller machine (ATM) at Whistler Blackcomb, as part of a new five-year partnership with the resort in Whistler, B.C.

The 2.6-m (8.5-ft) tall, 2,121-kg (4,676-lb) ATM (pictured with retired world ski champion and Olympic gold medallist Ashleigh McIvor DeMerit) is equipped with ski pole and glove holders and heating lamps and sits outside the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain. It allows customers to access funds for cash-only vendors on the slopes and will be active throughout the 2017 ski season.

“CIBC is our first-ever full-service banking partner and their commitment aligns perfectly with our goals,” says Morag Kerr, the resort’s manager of strategic alliances and partner marketing. “We look forward to working with them to better serve our guests in unique and exciting ways.”
