Video wall wins Guinness Record as world’s biggest

Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre recently set a Guinness World Record for the largest high-definition (HD) video wall. The Big Picture, part of the facility’s façade, measures 556.1 m2 (5,985.8 sf).
Consisting of 664 light-emitting diode (LED) screens, the Big Picture stands more than 15 m (49 ft) tall and 60 m (197 ft) wide, greeting delegates, visitors and shoppers as they approach the venue in Singapore (see photos and video). On-screen content is designed, animated, produced and managed using Dataton’s Watchout multi-display production and playback system.
“Our software designers have worked for years to create a single system that can handle video and data on such a huge display,” says Fredrik Svahnberg, marketing director for Dataton. “We’re delighted Watchout has now been put to the test.”
