Canadian Museum for Human Rights honoured for digital and interactive content

muse3 The Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg has won four Muse awards from the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) for its implementation of digital signage, multimedia content and related technologies.

In the ‘applications and application programming interfaces (APIs)’ category, the museum won gold for its enterprise content management (ECM) system, which uses Alfresco software to facilitate more than 6,500 images and 100 hours of high-definition (HD) video with metadata.

“We are proud to help the museum provide an exceptional digital experience to its visitors,” says John Newton, Alfresco’s founder and chief technology officer (CTO).

The museum’s Lights of Inclusion floor game (pictured, below) and Actions Count interactive table won silver and bronze, respectively, in the ‘games and augmented reality (AR)’ category, while its Human rights mobile app won gold in the ‘mobile applications’ category.
