Inspired by fast-setting composite material in the dental industry, 3M Canada has introduced Scotch-Weld DP8805NS and DP8810NS low-odour acrylic adhesives for signmaking, metalworking and other manufacturing activities.

Compared to conventional high-odour acrylics, the new non-flammable formulations ease health and safety concerns in today’s manufacturing facilities and reach structural strength almost twice as fast, reportedly within nine minutes. 3M has also focused on improving impact resistance, shear and peel performance and adhesion to a wide range of plastics and metals.

The new adhesives offer an 18-month shelf life, with no need for refrigeration.
