TTC marks World Pride with plaque and wrapped bus

PrideBusThe Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) marked the city’s WorldPride 2014 celebrations, which ran from June 20 to 29, with a temporary bus wrap and a permanent commemorative plaque at Wellesley Station.

The wrapped bus (pictured), showcasing rainbow graphics, operated along the 94 Wellesley route during the international festival. It was also part of the Pride Parade on June 29.

The plaque, meanwhile, acknowledges the longstanding partnership between the TTC and Pride Toronto. “Situated at the heart of the Church-Wellesley Village,” it reads, “Wellesley Station serves as a public gateway welcoming everyone to celebrate the vibrant diversity of Canada’s largest LGBTQ community.”
