Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:
1. The first exterior sign has been installed on Rogers Place, a major new hockey arena and concert venue scheduled to open this fall in Edmonton’s Ice District, in time for the Oilers’ 2016/2017 season.
2. Avery Dennison has launched its fourth annual Wrap Like a King Challenge. With this year’s addition of Australia and New Zealand, the vehicle-wrapping competition has become even more global than before.
3. Samsung has opened a new, digital signage-heavy store in Toronto’s Sherway Gardens mall, showcasing a pair of 2.4-m (95-in.) panels, among many smaller displays.
4. With today’s range of wall-mountable sign faces and frames, any design vision shared by an architect and a building owner can be complemented by blending wayfinding signage into a facility’s overall plan.
5. 3M was recently honoured with the Society for Experiential Design’s (SEGD’s) Arrow Award for the third time.
