Here’s your quick morning update on news in the sign industry:
1. Toronto-based Alex Severin has become the first Canadian graphics installer to be master-certified by the Professional Decal Application Alliance (PDAA), part of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA).
2. Large-format OOH advertising firm Cieslok Media has signed an exclusive national sales agreement with Leading Outdoor, extending its digital signage network into the Calgary market.
3. The Digital Signage Federation (DSF) has awarded the 2016 Geri Wolff Scholarship to Savannah McNulty, a third-year student majoring in graphic design at Georgia’s Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
4. Through an OOH advertising initiative that is reportedly the first of its kind in North America, RCC Media is expanding its presence in Vaughan, Ont., by offering pylon signs to city-owned facilities at no charge, in return for the right to convert existing static billboards to digital.
