Hi Signs has won the Stand-alone Signs category at the 2025 Best of Canada’s Sign Industry (BOCSI) Awards, presented by Sign Media Canada and the Sign Association of Canada (SAC-ACE).

Submitted by Mikayla Balfour for Heartwood in Calgary, Alta., the winning project is an illuminated monument installation featuring over 640 white LEDs and 320 precision-cut aluminum tubes arranged as a sculptural fingerprint. The outer tubes are wrapped in Di-Noc film to simulate wood grain, while the inner “heart” tubes are painted metallic gold and capped with acrylic and translucent vinyl for a luminous effect. Face-lit channel letters with day/night vinyl complete the installation, which is anchored on a reinforced aluminum base clad in limestone masonry. The design merges artistry, engineering precision, and material contrast into a distinctive landmark.
