Capacitive or resistive touch panel PCs support digital signage

Technologic Systems has developed TS-TPC-7990 capacitive and resistive touch-panel personal computers (PCs) for applications that require a touch-based human machine interface (HMI), including self-service kiosks with digital signage.

Powered by an NXP i.MX6 Cortex-A9 advanced reduced instruction set computer (RISC) machine (ARM) central processing unit (CPU), the touch-panel computer (TPC) features a 178-mm (7-in.) capacitive or resistive display, high-performance subsystem, a wide variety of connectivity options and multimedia capabilities. It embeds rugged interfaces and standard connectors for easy, quick and reliable digital signage deployments in the field.

The TPC also includes a pre-installed Linux operating system (OS), development tools and utilities for controlling digital input/output (DIO), universal asynchronous receiver-transmitters (UARTs), Controller Area Network (CAN) bus and more. The development kit makes sure users have all of the necessary connections and cables to get their projects off the ground quickly, while a 10-year-plus life-cycle guarantee supports long-term deployments in the field.

Technologic Systems has been in business for 32 years, helping more than 8,000 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) by offering custom configurations of standard products and providing design services for unique systems. Using hardware-software co-design strategies, the company specializes in ARM and X86 architectures, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) customization and open-source software support.
