Ontario’s Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) wrapped a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) streetcar in mostly black graphics for the recent National Day of Mourning, as a tribute to people who have died, been injured or suffered illness at work.

The empty streetcar ran along a loop on Adelaide Street from Spadina Avenue in the west to Church Street in the east from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Apr. 26, to maximize public awareness of the day of mourning on Apr. 28.

In another publicly visible display of support for the day, both the CN Tower and the three-dimensional (3-D) Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square were lit in yellow—traditionally a colour of hope—on the evening of Apr. 28.
